The New Jersey Communication Association Conference was held on Saturday, April 2, 2019. Eleven students from Dr. Susan McManimon’s and Dr. John Pollock’s courses in the Department of Communication Studies at TCNJ were selected to present their papers in sessions at this year’s conference held at Montclair State University. Dr. McManimon’s students presented in the area of trends in media converence in the news media and entertainment field. A discussion followed the presentations predicting on future trends in new media convergence. Dr. Pollock’s students presented papers in a thematic panel centered on national and cross-nationwide newspaper coverage of critical social issues such as human trafficking, opiod dependency, child labor, prison reform, and gun safety in the framework of the Community Structure Theory.
